Have
you ever wondered what the area you live in was like in the past? This
book holds some of the answers. As well as the stories of the public
institutions like the church, the school or the pubs,
this book also tells of life in the grand houses and of their owners,
such as Wootton Court, Chesford Grange, Woodcote
and Guy's Cliffe House. It also tells of some of the ordinary
farms, houses and cottages, and the people who have lived in them.
Have
you ever wondered what it was like to live here in the past? With the
assistance of long-time residents, there are first hand accounts of
life throughout the last century, of both war and peace, how people
lived, worked, played and died.
Launched
on 13 October 2001, sales completely exceeded the Group's highest expectations.
