Parish Council
Leek Wootton & Guy's Cliffe Parish Council is the civil government body for the Parish, not to be confused with the Parochial Parish Council (PCC) which is a church body. The Parish Council has been established in Leek Wootton & Guy's Cliffe since c.1850 and has recently been awarde "Quality" status. It is made up of 8 elected residents, the Parish Councillors. The Council meets on the second Tuesday of every month except August and December, to discuss matters of concern in the village and liaises with the District and County Councils. All meetings are open to the public and up to 15 minutes are available for members of the public to ask questions or raise concerns. The Council will consider action it can take within the realm of its responsibilities or refer the concerns to the District or County Councils as appropriate. The Parish Council represents the views of the residents to local government, gives local views on planning applications and assists in making things happen in the Parish. An Annual Parish Meeting is held April, which affords an opportunity for all residents to attend and contribute.
